The internet is a great resourceful tool that people use all the time! Sometimes I cannot even imagine what life would be like without the internet. This tool gives us access to all kinds of information, media, educational games, pretty much everything and anything you can imagine. However, the internet is a big place full of some risks and dangers. It is extremely important that internet safety is discussed with students so they are able to recognize these risks.

Although the internet is a great way to find out information quickly and connect with people there are still many risks that are involved with using it. These risks include but are not limited to cyberbullying, inappropriate material, online predators, unreliable information and revealing too much personal information. Also, making sure your computer is protected from viruses and hacks. It is so easy to come across issues like these without even knowing it. It is important for students to talk to their parents about what they are doing and looking at on the internet. It is also important for parents to talk to their children about how to properly and safely use the computer and internet while also monitoring their computer and internet activity.
